Who goes first in Auch schon clever?
English summary of Schmidt Spiele German rules, article 40625
Whoever most recently had a birthday starts.
Rule details
Give each player a sheet from the pad and a pencil. The initial starter takes all five dice.
Each turn has two actions: the active player rolls and chooses dice first, then the other players use the unused dice. Several players may choose the same unused dice.
After everyone has finished marking, pass the dice clockwise. The recipient becomes the next active player; the birthday criterion selects only the initial starter.
Equal rainbow-star totals at the end produce multiple winners. This is final scoring, not a starting-player tie-break.
If there’s a tie
The rulebook doesn’t say.
