Who goes first in Deception: Murder in Hong Kong?

The Forensic Scientist leads the opening crime sequence and places the first evidence markers. For formal presentations, the player to the Scientist’s left speaks first, then play proceeds clockwise.

If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.

Rule details

Roles are normally dealt randomly. For a first game, the rules recommend assigning the Forensic Scientist to the most expressive player.

Once the Scientist places the first marker, the other players may discuss freely; the clockwise sequence applies to presentations, not all discussion.

If there’s a tie

The rulebook doesn’t say. If you need a tie-break, pick a player at random.
