Who goes first in Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion?

There is no fixed first player. Each round, players secretly choose two ability cards, and figures then act in initiative order, starting with the lowest initiative.

Official tie-break or fallback

If a character ties with a monster, the character goes first. If two characters tie, compare the initiative value of their second card.

If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.

Rule details

Of the two cards each player selects, one is chosen as the initiative card that sets the character's place in the round.

Initiative order is set again every round.
