Choose a Lead Investigator. They reveal the case’s start card and read it aloud, then read the first task so the group can investigate together.

If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.

This is a cooperative investigation; the Lead Investigator reads the cards and checks answers rather than taking an exclusive first search turn.
