Who goes first in Shogun (Dirk Henn, 2006)?
Queen base game · 2006 (English)
Regular actions start with the player whose Daimyo card occupies the earliest turn-order position. Players establish those positions by choosing special cards after bidding and replacing them with their Daimyo cards.
Official tie-break or fallback
For equal bids, shuffle the tied players' Daimyo cards and reveal them one at a time to determine their order of choosing special cards.
If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.
Rule details
The oldest player begins claiming starting provinces during setup, followed by the other players in turn.
The highest bidder chooses a special card first. Province-card bids choose before zero-chest bids, and players who bid no card choose last.
Special-card positions determine action order, with empty positions ignored in games with three or four players. Each action is carried out by all players in that order before the next action begins.
Players plan their individual actions and bids simultaneously before turn order is determined.
Players may skip province claiming and use the supplement's predetermined starting setup. That beginner option is for the sun side of the board.
