Who goes first in Viticulture: Essential Edition?

Randomly draw one rooster token from the players' tokens. Its owner receives the first player token and begins spring by placing their rooster on the wake-up chart.

Rule details

In spring, players place their roosters clockwise from the first player. The wake-up chart then determines action order during the remaining seasons.

Our interpretation

The first player token identifies who chooses a wake-up row first; it does not set a simple clockwise work-action order.

If there’s a tie

The rulebook doesn’t say. If you need a tie-break, pick a player at random.
