Who goes first in 7 Wonders Duel?
Repos Production English rulebook, 2015
The rulebook simply says to choose a first player; it gives no method. That player starts the Wonders selection and begins Age I.
If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.
Rule details
In the Wonders selection, the first player chooses 1 of 4 Wonders, the second player chooses 2, and the first player takes the last one. The second group of 4 starts with the second player.
Players then alternate turns, and the first player begins Age I.
At the start of Age II and Age III, the player with the weaker military (the Conflict pawn is on their side) chooses who begins. If the pawn is in the middle, the player who played the last card of the previous Age chooses.
If there’s a tie
The rulebook doesn’t say. If you need a tie-break, pick a player at random.
