Who goes first in Arkham Horror?

Fantasy Flight Games second edition English rulebook, 2005

Select one player at random to be the first player and give them the first player marker.

If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.

Rule details

During each phase, every player acts in turn, starting with the first player and continuing clockwise.

At the end of each game turn, after the Mythos Phase, the first player marker passes to the player on the left.

The first player also makes group decisions when players cannot agree, such as monster placement.

If there’s a tie

The rulebook doesn’t say. If you need a tie-break, pick a player at random.
