Who goes first in Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization?

Choose the starting player however you like. The starting player does not change during the game.

If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.

Rule details

Turns go clockwise from the starting player, and each round begins with the starting player's turn.

On the first turn the starting player has 1 civil action; each following player in clockwise order has one more (2, 3 or 4). Nobody has military actions on the first turn.

You may mark the starting player by sliding an unused Age A military card face down under their board.

If there’s a tie

The rulebook doesn’t say. If you need a tie-break, pick a player at random.
