• BasilicaThe player who most recently visited a cathedral, basilica, or medieval church takes the first turn. If neither player has, consider any other temple or sacred place. If both visited such a place at the same time, the younger player starts.
• Dreadful CircusThe player who most recently visited a circus starts as the first Seller.
• Eleven: Football Manager Board GameThe player who most recently scored a goal becomes the first player and receives the Stage marker.
• GutenbergCompare the books each player most recently read. Whoever read the thickest of those books receives the first-player token.
• Imperial SettlersRandomly choose the First Player and give them the First Player marker.
• My Happy FarmThe person who most recently fed their pet starts.
• Neuroshima Hex! 3.0The game owner starts as Player 1, but may choose another starting player; the group may also choose the starter randomly.
