Who goes first in Inis?

Matagot English original edition

Give the Brenn marker to a random player for setup. In the Season phase, the current Brenn plays the first card, which must be a Season card.

If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.

Rule details

The setup Brenn chooses the Capital and flips the Flock of Crows token. Initial clan placement begins with the Brenn and follows the token’s direction.

Before each Season, the Assembly gives the Brenn marker to the Capital’s chieftain, if there is one; otherwise the current Brenn keeps it. The Assembly also flips the Flock of Crows token to set turn direction.

If there’s a tie

The rulebook doesn’t say. If you need a tie-break, pick a player at random.
