Who goes first in Race for the Galaxy?

Rio Grande Games English rules, second edition, 2018

Nobody goes first. Each round, all players secretly choose an action card at the same time and reveal them together, then everyone performs the chosen phases.

If your rules call for a random choice, use the player picker.

Rule details

Play is mostly simultaneous. When order matters (for example, few cards left in the supply or VP chips running out), resolve the phase clockwise, starting with the player who has the lowest-numbered original start world.

Start worlds are dealt randomly during setup.

If there’s a tie

The rulebook doesn’t say. If you need a tie-break, pick a player at random.
